Rome, Italy - Wednesday 12 March 2008 - On top of the World
As if previous experiences in Africa didn't make enormous impression on my cultural self, today's tour is proof enough that Europe also has its highlights. We are now in a country with a World record in World Heritage sites (41) and with so many historical evidents that this once was the centre of the World (although extremely bloody at times). And what part of the World didn't in ancient days?
Visiting the Vatican State is something you should do before you die (get married or do some other stupid things), St Peters Cathedral, Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum made me speechless and that should definitely mean something. I have summered up some of the highlights from today's trip with additional comments (not translated into English (not yet anyway)). Enjoy a few pictures here.
