Nice, France - Sunday 2 March 2008 - Presentation of France
Lets give you some stats about the country who invented perfume to cover up their bad smell and have a law against naming pigs Napoleon! Why naming pigs in the first place? Republic of France has well over 64 million inhabitants and I am sure all of them are smelling pretty good nowadays. 12 million of them live in and around the capitol Paris. France is the most popular holiday country in the World and are visited by almost 80 million a year. Because of French citizen's interest in World traveling and exploring (and exploitation) the last 400 years (actually started in 1604), you have 30 francophone countries on the African continent (20 of them has French as official language today).
From the early days of the 16th century where they had "outings" and found new land(!) one of them funny enough called Newfoundland, France expanded its territories over the whole world and was at its peak the third biggest World power (after the British and the Spaniards).
Today France is mostly know for its wines, culture (architecture, litterature and art), its capital Paris, numerous resorts ranging from rural tranquil, castles, beaches and ski resorts. France is also to some extent known for their football, of course their inventions and industry (from cars to aero planes). It was also one of the founders of the EU and sits as a permanent member in UN's Security council.
In other words, I could probably go on and on, France is definitely worth a visit for those of you that likes crowds, have loads of money and if you like to enhance your cultural and historical knowledge.
