Torrevieja, Spain - Friday 15 February 2008 - Days of FIESTA...

I need to exercise! My host here in Spain (Norwegian hosts that is...) are trying to bring me back to "life" by feeding me traditional Norwegian dishes, teaching me how to behave like a westerner again. Not that I forgot, but I have practised a more unhealthy and strong diet during my days together with Betsy. One meal a day is definitely not tradition here, that's for sure.

Lots of fish, lots of traditional dishes and of course lots of good wine, beer and the likes. The last week has been a long continuous fiesta together with my mother, Nelly, Joar and lots of old friends from Torrevieja. Great fun and a wonderful way to acclimatizes into a World of overflow. BUT do I fit in?

You might think this has nothing to do with cape2cape and let me inform you (in case thats what you think), this is as much cape2cape as a lonely day in the bushes of Angola. I read once that the luxury villas and hotels along the beach south of Monrovia was "Not Africa", but believe me it is. Africa is not only "Huts made of dung and women carrying water on their heads". Africa is also modern, Africa is also developed and Africa is rich. Try to remember that. I have to stop writing now, I am invited to another party, this time it is "rømmegrøt" and "spekemat".
