Arroyo de la Miel, Spain - Friday  8 February 2007 - Betsy-mania

Yes we did it again and don't ask me how many times and how many mechanics have plundered with my Lady by now. What I can say; "It is too many". This is one of the reasons I wanted to go the small British enclave on the tip of the Spanish mainland that still was occupied by the Brits. HERE they are obliged to drive Land Rovers and we might get some professional attention. Sadly enough, they had a waiting list up to three days and we don't have the luxury of spending that many days down here. We found a private workshop and a good welder who managed to sew back Betsy's hips. Unfortunately we had to be towed out of there because my immobilizer went coco...Back to Land Rover and beg for them to see us just for a few minutes. And it took only three minutes, the remote control was the error this time and we went onroad again. Perfect roads with more lanes than I have seen in several African countries all together. In other words, I cannot blame the roads for what happened.

After 100 kilometer we stranded in the middle of the Spanish highway and with little hope of getting out of there. My co-pilot saved the day in more than one way and helped Betsy and me out fo the misery. His membership in the Norwegian AA gave us towing and shelter. Thanks a lot Geir.
