All about us...

I know this is close to being selfish, but I say it again; This is actually my blog and who else than myself to ask on what to write.

We have now been on the road for two years and well, to be honest, I feel kinda good. There should absolutely have been a cake or decent brand of champagne to celebrate it, but my co-pilot was not totally ready to fulfill his obligation at this early stage. (and he is fully forgiven :-).

No matter how much trouble we have experienced the last six months, I am proud of Betsy and what she has achieved. People have told me that I should have used a different brand than Land Rover because they felt that it has been to much trouble and too many visits to garages. BUT I would like to have seen the Nissan, Toyota or any other car that would have survived "my treatment" on the roads we have travelled together.

43 different African countries, an unknown number of border crossings between countries that hardly had any descent roads at all. Going in places with good and bad roads, wide and narrow roads, jungle and stones, desert and rivers, mountains and beaches has been a diverse and sometimes difficult path for my friend Betsy.

105.000 kilometers, visiting 40 different schools, interview with 50+ children and experiences and enjoyment with hundreds of people all over the African continent.

This should be material enough for at least one book and stories for many many late nights.
