On the road in Western Sahara - Monday 21 January 2008 - It snows in Western Sahara

Its amazing, its winter in Western Sahara and the roadside is bleached white and its soooo cold. Unbelievable how cold it is, especially when the wind blows almost right through Betsy! Yes, its no joke, she is not wind nor dust or sand proof.

It is by the way nothing to see here in this part of the world, not along the mainroad that is. As I want to get up to "real" Morocco as soon as possible, there is no time for detours. I am experiensing some strange sounds and late Monday four of my fuses went dead. So, in order NOT to get stranded in this dusty wilderness, I would like a breakdown close to civilisation this time.

Just to be fear; there is not snow and ice as you might think looking at the above picture. The sand is white (and so am I...).
