Dakar, Senegal - Saturday 15 December 2007 - Dakar and the beach

Resting in the capital of Senegal after (I admit) too many stressful days in reaching this destination. The last stretch of tar road trough the bustling city the sounds "beneath" began to worry me again and it was a delight to finally driving into the compound of Monaco Plage very close to the city centre.

Now the task is to find a Land Rover garage that can more than crawl and curse which at first sight will be a challenging process. Three days on the roads here in Senegal I haven't met or seen ONE Defender and only one Land Rover Discovery two days ago. At Monaco Plage there was an "overland-rover defender" which hopefully can give me some useful information on that garage quest.

We are now happy resting at this runned down resort next to Hotel Voile d'Or. Its practically right on the beach preparing our self to meet Rune in a couple of days.
