Monrovia, Liberia - Sunday 2 December 2007 - Its all about the clutch now
As so many days before, we had really big hopes today that we were going to look back on National Service Garage, but not so. After the electrician fixed the burned out wires caused by reckless handling and installing of the gearbox on Friday we started Betsy up and was ready for a drive.
Again; Not so! None of the gears wanted to engage and after some testing and discussion among all the professors present, they pointed out the problem. They had to take out the gearbox again and check the clutch disk. The test driver from Thursday admitted that it was during that short drive around the block that ruined the disk. Everything was fixed on Saturday but they need to put everything back on place again before the final test and hopefully TEST-DRIVE...
Departure is set to Monday morning. The above picture of Betsy was made by Yassah Johnsson, who won a drawng contest on Saturday among my current neighbours.
