Danane, Ivory Coast - Wednesday 31 October 2007 - Not another gearbox picture!!!!!
I have been looking back in the archives and discovered that this Pitstop is far from as time-consuming (yet) as the breakdown in Yei, South Sudan in February this year. That time we had 20 days delay in finding spare parts and repairing Betsy. Now we are only 10 days stranded in Danane and the prosperity of rolling again within 15 days is what we realistically are hoping for. That means we will be on our way 4 of November which will be on Sunday this very week.
A donor has been localized and of all the brands to choose from, they picked Isuzu. Mamoudou (not Mustafa) is so confident that he thinks there is no need for a new gearbox when I am in Monrovia. Hehe, I dont know about that though. All I know is that I will have some wizard look through everything as soon as I am down there. Sorry about the picture, but I am just documenting the facts.
