Danane,  Ivory Coast - Saturday 27 October 2007 - Someone please halt the rain

On Friday morning I got worrying news from an MSF team that were headed "my way", they said the road conditions due to heavy rain lately was almost impassable. That's definitely not good news for me as I have to drive carefully with a newly operated gearbox.

I was hoping that the weather was changing as it was fairly nice the whole day, except a small shower before sunset. As you already understand, there was no "take off" on Friday morning as I hoped because of technical problems. When they mounted back the gearbox it couldnt keep the oil that was poored in which ment they had to dismantle the entire box again. This means I am exactly where I was 24 hours ago with the hope of maybe be rolling during the day on Saturday, but most probably on Sunday.

I called my friend Gunnar that has been in Monrovia since last Sunday that it might happen that we dont meet up at all. Sadly but true right now.
