Danane, Ivory Coast - Friday 19 October 2007 - A peak into a classroom
The seasonal school holidays are over, which means that we again are able to visit the schools, meet the head masters/mistresses to retrieve information about the local challenges facing their environment. We had to finish the photo shoot with Salimatou Kaba, our representative in Ivory Coast.
Due to concerned rebels (and of course I thank them for that) we couldn't drive the last leg crossing the border into Liberia on Thursday. The plan is to be there around lunchtime on Friday with the help of an escort the last 16 kilometres. As the commander said "We are still at war..." and refused to give me clearance to leave Danane.
