Abidjan, Ivory Coast - Tuesday 9 October 2007 - The toe and the finger :-)
Of course we planned to stop over in Abidjan for a couple of days, but it looks like it will be a bit longer than anticipated. Some strange noise under the car has to be localized by Land Rover Abidjan and also a medical issue with the project manager (read; Jarle him self).
As I do mentioned on my Norwegian pages, I sort of keep most of the personal hiccups hidden from worried family members up north and also if it is something out of the ordinary with Betsy.
You know... No matter how minor the hiccups are, it creates sleepless nights on some readers and that is why the English version is more honest and more up to date than the local Norwegian version. We all know that no matter how old you are, mothers have a "built in" anxiety level that we "kids" never would understand. I think it is cute although sometimes it forces me to make up white lies and be untruthfully to my own mother so be it...
On the picture you can see Patrick the doctor treating my wounds on my left toe and one on my left index finger. Why I got it is a mystery and when someone ask I make up a story about snakes and spiders just to be the centre of attention. It is more likely that it is wounds infected because of the lack of hygiene, walking barefoot and being careless. The doctor put me on antibiotic and even though this is the most painful on this trip so far, it is healing slowly.
