Sometimes you just run out of luck, other times you are full of it. To say that Jens and my self was out of luck would be declaring a war against truth. So, lets recapitulate what I mean by this; We anticipated that Serengeti would be the highlight of our triangle of parks that we were visiting. That was not entirely the case. Masai Mara gave us more than we hoped for and twofold as much as Ngorongoro and Serengeti put together. Remember this is seen from an "overlander's" point of view. Enough complaints and regrets, lets be positive. And being positive is easy when you get in touch with "real Africa", which is its people. We had a fabulous evening together with new friends in Engos Nanyokie village and the way we were welcomed there should be textbook performance for many of the officials in parks, border posts and other governmental institutions. David and friends brought us closer to "home" than we have been in many weeks, inviting us for dance and dinner (almost for free). The above picture was the evening meal! |
