Off-road, Mali - Monday 27 August 2007 - Complications

To day we experienced some trouble with the work done by the "experts" at Land Rover Bamako. After paying too much for too many days, we were heading north-east towards Djenne. Sounds and smell made us aware of a serious oil leak from the newly repaired gear box. Filling up 3 liters, we continued our journey north.

Around 5 PM we were looking for a camp for the night and the soft ground forced us to engage low gear, then the car stopped for good. We camped and my friend Geir started working. A pin in the transfer was absent and now everything is fixed and we are ready for Djenne on Monday. Insh Allah...
