Kaduna, Nigeria - Thursday 26 July 2007 - Gearbox on vacation
Suddenly fifth gear didn't want to engage, after some tests it didn't want to back up either. I could probably continued to Niger and Mali, but I both had time and found it necessary to be able to back up (Betsy doesn't have a rear winch). I am sure Marc and company are shaking their head now, but this is not at all much to worry about. At least I am in good hands. Engineer DC at Kaduna Road Work Shop seam to enjoy demolishing cars and he has stripped Betsy so much now that she is blushing.
We are situated close to Kaduna and were cruising happily when it happened. We have another five days before we are awaited to enter Niger, so lets just cool down.
