Bante, Nigeria - Friday 20 July 2007 - Welcome to Nigeria
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with over 130 million people and so it seamed to day when I searched for a place to sleep. I found a better solution though and managed to make new friends again. A small homestead in Bante (20 km south of Potiskum) I turned off down a gravel path and found a nice place with very nice people. The first goal now is to get to Abuja to pick up my passport and do a couple of interviews. Abuja has been the countrys capital since 1991 and is fairly small with about 500.000 inhabitants. Compared to Nigerias largest and most important trading hub Lagos with around 14 million. Nigeria is mostly known for its abundance of oil and gas and has amazingly over 500 spoken languages.
