N'Djamena, Chad - Wednesday 18 July 2007 - Leaving N'Djamena and Sain Louis

Things didn't go as planned here in N'Djamena, but we eventually managed to find a brave boy (picture above) to interview and a visa for Nigeria. Actually that's why we came in the first place. Being a tourist going south to the forests and national parks and visiting Lake Chad could have been very interesting, but has to be done on another occasion and another time of year.

The heat and the rain forces us to abandon this place which is too expensive to enjoy anyway. Even at the sports club with its limited facilities and filthy ablutions asked 6.500 CFA for a pizza (15 US Dollar) which could be compared with the Norwegian price level. The amount of prostitutes that serves the international presence and expatriates here in Chad is a sad sight, more evident that anywhere we have travelled (maybe with exception from Mombassa, Kenya). In short, not a very memorable visit.
