Yaoundé, Cameroon - Wednesday 27 June 2007 - Yaoundé, capital of Cameroon
I really should have spent more time in this metropolis, but as you might have understood, I am happier in the countryside. Between one and two million people are resident here and the numbers increase each month, creating infrastructural, employment and housing problems.
The poverty and lack of opportunities in the rural areas brings a lot of people to cities in a desperate hope that they will "find gold" or to try their luck.
No surprise for anyone that I continued out of the capital and found a more quiet spot for the night. I did my spare part shopping and that was it. Now heading for the coast and my own private mechanics.
