Bouar, Central African Republic - Saturday 23 June 2007 - Meteorological sightseeing
On Thursday afternoon I got an invitation to meet the chief of Bouar Airport and were guided around on the premises as if it was a popular tourist site. If only some high ranking officials were looking as my camera spitted out one classified picture after another. Managing director Jeannol Feizoure assured me this was totally fine. The last 24 hours we have had 5 mm rain and the average temperature was 22 degrees, notably lower than cape2cape have experienced the last couple of months. And yes, we know we should praise the rain, but as always, preferably not when we are here.
On Friday there was nice and sunny the whole day, so I am happy that I could enjoy the day with my new friends in good weather. We all went down to the river for a refreshing bath and I can assure Eli (among others) that the water was running and fairly clear. Our departure from Bouar will be on Saturday and entering Cameroon again Sunday 24 of June. Are we meeting up Georges???
