Limbe, Cameroon - Wednesday 13 June 2007 - Free the primates!

The above picture was taken in the Limbe Zoo, which is no longer a zoo. It act as a sanctuary for rescued primates and they are working on a release project to eventually place the animals back into the wild again. No matter how good the cause is, I feel kind of depressed walking around in an animal prison. The electric fences and big cages of rust and metal makes me compare this with sending street kids and orphans in San Francisco to Alcatraz for treatment and education.

And by the way, the kid on the picture is Ian, Cameroon representative for "Children of Africa". He is signing the guestbook at the zoo, commenting his experiences for the day.
