Limbe, Cameroon - Tuesday 12 June 2007 - A very good day for cape2cape

Some days are different and less fortunate than others. It can be technical, emotional or as simple as bad weather or thieves. What we experienced on Sunday was a combination of the two latter, although the thieves might have done us a favour. No matter how hot or cold, wet or dry it is, we moun about the weather no matter how it shines out to be. In Africa you should worship the rain, something we are learning how to do. I just have to fix a few leaks first, then I will bend over to pray and praise.

On Monday morning it continued to pour down, but we had faith in the day and rightfully so. The rain halted, we found a woman's empowerment group to help out with a goodwill gift and made appointment for an early morning interview on Tuesday for the book project. If that was not enough, we found a quiet, clean and green spot in the middle of Limbe to rest our shoulders for the night. The heavenly rain turned into teardrops of joy and satisfaction. Just like that!

On the above picture you can see Ngute Margaret Iye in a conversation with Eli Storset about today's Goodwill drop. She is the manager of Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family, in Limbe, Cameroon. Our task was to find a good cause for a group of women and we only wish that we had much more money to hand out. Their projects were plentiful and we were only able to help one of them, energetic and enthusiastic 58 year old Mary Shalman.
