Bata, Equatorial Guinea - Tuesday 5 June 2007 - Our little paradise in Bata

You can see the red little dot on the satellite picture above, that's where we are having our holiday now. Phillipe and Christine are serving us the best fish we have tasted on the whole trip. And this is absolutely something to recommend to fellow overlanders travelling the western route. When you are at the border to Cameroon and Gabon, the trip down to the coast will take you three easy hours drive on perfect tarmac. There are still some hassle through the checkpoint, but you will quickly forget it when arrive in Bata. Things changes fast and a representative from Red Cross was in a meeting with the Prime minister and she was going to mention the roadblocks and our experience. There are not many tourists coming by road, so we feel like a celebrity driving around in town. All my campsite are recorded with coordinates on the camping page, and its easy to find it in Google by copy and paste into the search field. Happy virtual travelling.
