Libreville, Gabon - Monday 28 May 2007 - Still a lot to see and do in Africa
I got reports from fellow Norwegian travelers that they have just finished their journey from cape to cape. Only difference is that they took the easy downhill from the far north to the far south. We have to go uphill all the way to Norway :-)
Jens Thomessen with his Landcruiser ODD III, GPS Kjell and friends left Norway in September 2006 and are now safely situated in Mossel Bay, South Africa. Their car is for sale, so anyone that want to explore Africa and maybe meet up with Betsy and me. Call Jens! If you would like to take a look at their webpage, go to this site: www.safafrica.no or visit their photo galleries at http://www.flickr.com/photos/safarica/sets. Its an impressive set of pictures from 31 different countries. And the Cape2Cape team would like to congratulate the team of Safafrica for great accomplishment.
Reading that other travelers have stamped the cape's makes us confident that we are going to achieve it as well. Although I can feel the pressure on Betsy, I am sure she is up to the task now that the road network is promised to be improving.
It is still a lot to do and according to our itinerary, we are only half way through Africa. We will try to update the dates on our time plan pages within few days. In the mean time, lets celebrate Rosenborg (Scandinavias number one team).
