Ndjole, Gabon - Friday 24 May 2007 - Meeting the Parish of Ndjole
Try to pronounce that name on my front shield, record it and send it to the editor. We always have some fun doing that when people ask about that strange word that runs through the Norwegian flag sticker. It is THE place on earth and its my hometown or rather a home village with less than 5000 proudly Norwegians. You have to visit the place to understand the concept of "beautiful".
On Thursday we managed to drive to Ndjole, which is a small city (10.000) on the mainroad N2 leading to Libreville. My only concern that day was to find a place cheap enough and good enough for my co-pilot Eli (picture) because we were both totally broke and the first bank appeared to be in Libreville.
And luck struck again after eight hours on the road we stopped at the Evangelic Church in Ndjole and asked Reverend Boniface Edzang for help. He opened his home for us and provided Madam Eli with a nice "chambre privee" and what else can we do than produce the nicest smile possible (same picture).
