In the forest, Gabon - Tuesday 22 May 2007 - Meeting Eli Storset on Tuesday?

This is the first country where I have seen wood used as building material in most of the houses. Some of them don't look far out from what you could expect when visiting Norway or Sweden. Most of them are of course not painted, but some (see the above picture) are surrounded with nice gardens and hedges. On the road on Monday I got the first impression in what scale the country is logging out of its forests, You meet convoy after convoy with huge trucks filled up with three to five extremely huge trees (trestokker...?).

I am informed that my next co-pilot Eli is in Yaonde already and hopefully we are able to meet up tomorrow, south of the border to Gabon.
