Gamboma, Congo - Friday 18 May 2007 - On our way to Gabon

The plan was to leave early early on Friday morning so that I could reach the border to Gabon by dusk. We left 1 PM after a visit to a school and a short visit to Foreign Affairs to give a briefing to one of the officials there. Even though a late takeoff, we managed to clock 330 kilometre. Not bad Betsy!

The above picture was taken at the Norwegian Independence Day celebration at the Consul Madam Fumee residence. From left Sunee, Magnar, Jarle and Kristin. We are singing (well trying...) the National hymn and drinking Linje Aquavit at the same time... Full Duplex

By the way, Madam Fumee also has a Land Rover Series I, 40 years old but just relaxing in the garden at the moment due to some spare part issue (We know the feeling...)
