Ondjiva, Angola - Sunday 29 April 2007 - Average around 27 Km/h

Sorry about a typo about the campsite coordinates, I wrote Latitude North instead of south, which could mean that I was situated somewhere in Chad by now. AND that's not correct... :-) Seeing that the road conditions in South Angola is beyond repair, its not possible to drive faster than 30 on most parts. Which means that the days consist mostly of driving, at least until I am in Luanda.

Far south, the Chinese are busy making new roads, they are preparing for the next generation Asian tourists. The Chinese market will blossom in a few years, with 20 million restless travelers from China, I guess a good amount will tour Africa. AND it better be good roads, they are loaded with electronic cameras... :-)

They young boys and girls in the region has started a new business by trying to fix the roads, on the above picture you see "loads" of dust thrown into the huge potholes. Pity its just for show. As soon as the potential donor drive pass, they sit down and wait for the next truck/car. Then they start "working" again. The idea is brilliant, but the income is as good as nothing. At least they have ideas, if only more people would use their brain more intensively...
