Windhoek, Namibia - Wednesday 11 April 2007 - Expensive fuel pump beyond repair
I now understand why British 4x4 didn't install the fuel pump when I was at their workshop in Pretoria. They didn't have time to dismantle Betsy's ass, which would have taken them some extra effort. Instead they gave me the fuel pump neatly rapped in a box like a "takeaway". Because of the price, I didn't want the pump and got a refund. Now, the pump is gone anyway, and it had to be replaced. The good thing is that I at least have a sense of reacting when something is not working as it should.
The sad thing is, this is horribly expensive and it almost gave me a heart attack, but it had to be done and that's why I am trying not to be upset. You have to do what you have to do. What would have happened if this pump said sayonara in the Congo? One extra day in Windhoek and one day to catch up when finally on the Angolan roads. Don't worry Eli, we will make it!
