Windhoek, Namibia - Easter Monday 9 April 2007 - Easter feast
The above picture shows you how we celebrate Easter in the southern hemisphere. Gabriella and Mkuleko (my excellent hosts in Johannesburg) gave us a real treat in their garden on Friday night. I have waited for Mkuleko to put his braai gloves on for a long time, and finally he did his magic. And just so he knows, this is what I would like when I return back in 2009/2010.
We managed to arrive in Windhoek just as the sun set on Sunday afternoon, after a good days drive of about 1000 kilometres on perfect roads. You realise that Botswana is one of the more successful countries in Africa, because I use to compare the infrastructure to the health of the country. Compared to Kenya and parts of Tanzania, this is remarkable and it shows how it can be done without a cancer infected government. I must add that Namibia`s "health" is also doing very good.
