Johannesburg, South Africa - Sunday 25 March 2007 - Resting in Paulshof, Joburg
It really feels good to be "home" among friends and being received the way I was, after making the worst practical joke ever. My "family" in South Africa is amazing and we will check how understanding Gabriellas husband will be when he discover that I have been camping with his wife without asking permission (thinking back, it actually has happened before)
Of course we would have asked, its just that Mkuleko is in Zimbabwe and in the rural areas there is not always cell phone coverage. She didnt have to look at me twice to understand that something was seriously wrong and drove me immediately to the doctor. On Sunday morning we received the verdict and it was as suspected Malaria. I started treatment two days ago on my own suspition that it might be malaria, but I didnt follow the prescriptions so the treatment was as good as worthless. Its now under professional supervision and as the infection was discovered in an early stage.
What is happening now except getting well, is getting a new visa for Angola, fixing Betsy with the latest hickups, buying spareparts, fixing gps etc...
