Kabalega NP, Uganda - Tuesday 13 March 2007 - Thank you Uganda, for nice tar
To say this road is heavenly might be too strong, but I recon that the feeling would be the same when you are headed for heaven. And I know how the road to hell is like, so stay nice all of you! It was about 90 km from Yei to the border, but it took me close to four hours. I know that Betsy is not totally healthy, so I was more careful than normal (which I always should do to prevent more break downs). After a slow start I hoped the roads were better in Uganda, but not so much... I hate corrugations, which was plentiful. The scenery was marvellous and it kept me in good mood. Its a shame that this part of Sudan and Uganda is off limit for tourists, and there is still a long way to go before we will experience true and long lasting peace in these regions. Tomorrow I look forward to get a Kenyan visa into my passport again, and will drive as far as possible towards Nairobi.
