Yei, Sudan - Sunday 4 March 2007 - Solar Eclipse from South Sudan
A brief look at the calendar says that we are in March, and looking around me, I can still see the NPA buildings which means that I am still in Yei. Not much progress over the last two weeks, but I guess saving money has been more important than time lately. I could have gone by plane to Kampala and sorted out the spare parts and been on the road seven days ago. Being a guest at NPA Mine Action means that I have been so comfortable that getting restless and irritated has not been an issue.
Yesterday we enjoyed the Lunar Eclipse on a heavenly crisp night sky. They claim that the "red moon" has not been so clear and bright in decades and judging from the above photo, it might even be true. I was sky gazing together with Howard from Zimbabwe and he told me that this occurs only during full moon and is caused when the moon passes through Earths umbral shadow.
