Yei, Sudan - Thursday 1 March 2007 - Going back south-west
All the way back to the south! Well, it sounds lika a waste doesnt it? If you know my plans and are familiar to the goals that I am trying to achive, then you might understand. Because of the book project, I have to drive all the way down to Angola to make my interviews and pictures. As the Angolan embassy in Windhook denied me access the last time I tried, I will have to do it differently the next time around, maybe drive all the way to Pretoria to get a visa to Angola.
There are other reasons for going south as well. I might not be up to the challenge driving through the dense jungle with my partner (Betsy) that has shown lack of commitment lately. Therefor I am headed south to areas where they are familiar with Defenders. I am also not too sure about the movement of LRA and their intentions if we meet up. So I guess that I am not so tough that I appeard to be regarding areas of unrest. Another uncertainty is the weather. Because of the delays, the rainy season is around the corner and being in CAR at that time is not only risky, its stupid. So, although familiar terrain, try to keep an eye on what is happening by visiting the web. Cheers.
