Yei, Sudan - Saturday 24 February 2007 - Erlend withdraws from the team

Almost a month earlier than anticipated, we lost our trusted co-pilot Erlend Vaag. He decided on Sunday to catch the first plane possible out of Entebbe airport back to cold and freezing Norway. To be fair, we understand that he lost interest and trust in our project, because Betsy has been giving us nothing but trouble since he arrived in Khartoum. So I guess, Betsy is a one mans lady afterall. We are leaving for Kampala on Tuesday, either with Betsy or with a plane. This trip through Eritrea and Sudan has hurt my bank accounts severly and we need to find ways to make an income.
