Yei, Sudan - Saturday 24 February 2007 - Its all about Erlend, my co-pilot

There has been a growing concern among our readers that there has been very little focus on my co-pilot. And even a higher demand on posting a travel report written by Erlend personally. We understand that people wants more background and follow up reports on Erlend and we have decided to do something about it. Although he was reluctant, we came to an understanding and Erlend is willing to write a short report every Sunday from now on. The first report is in Norwegian, but our teams are busy translating them and it will be on the web shortly.

Progression report: As you can see, we are still in the village of Yei in Southern Sudan. Due to a pulley/bearing failior, we are stuck here until spare parts arrives from Nairobi, Kenya. We expect the parts to arrive on Monday. Due to slow progress through Sudan, another problem popped up to the surface. Our Central African Republic visas expires today (Saturday 24. Feb). We need to travel to Kampala in order to extend the dates on those papers before we continue. That means; Flying to Entebbe on Monday, returning back to Yei on Wednesday.
