Along the White Nile, Sudan - Wednesday 7 February 2007 - The exciting journey to Juba
Finally we are ready for the last leg to to Juba. The above image depicts a scenario in which we believed the journey would take place. One brave man pushing a papyrus pontoon slowly but steadily up the river southwards to Juba. Well, you are about to be fooled, its a manipulation. We are crossing the river south of Malakal, but hopefully not like that. The path south has been cleared by a helpful SPLA Commander whom we met on Tuesday together with Ter. He kindly telegraphed and inquired about the road conditions, which was said to be okay. So, off we go!
