Malakal, Sudan - Sunday 4 February 2007 - I want to be a pilot!

Saad is our Sudanese representative for the book project, and we met him together with our special friends in Khartoum. He is 11 year old and a very bright young man that speaks English better than most of the kids I have interviewed. I am sure he already makes his father proud and Saad explained to us that he wants to be a pilot. If that is not doable, he will study to be a doctor. When I told his father about his sky high goals, he replied; "And who will pay for the pilot license???" We spent a day exploring the ancient ruins north of Khartoum and I am as proud as his father, having him among all the other fine youngsters in this project. Fly high Saad, I know you will make it happen.
