Eritrea, Thursday 4 January 2006 -  The book project "Children in Africa"

The bookproject about Kids in Africa is still alive, although my travel plans got a minor heart attack on Wednesday. On the above picture you see Selam, 11 year old girl from the capitol Asmara in Eritrea. She is the 26th child that has been portraited and put into my projectfiles, in the hope that this will one day be a published coffee table book about Children in Africa. The plan is to visit all the landbound countries in Africa within a two year period and assemble the photographs with short stories into a book about happy and positive children all around the continent.

I know that it is not an easy task, and keeping in mind that there are still regions on the continent that are not fully secure. In order to avoid the danger zones, to get permits, visas and manage to complete the interviews it will be a challenging and timely task and we need the goodwill from lots of people and organisations. Lets keep the faith and work hard together, I am sure we will succeed.
