Ethiopia, Saturday 25 November 2006 -  Heavenly scenic in the Ethiopian mountains

Despite what the guidebooks are writing, we found "our" part of Ethiopia extremly scenic. This route was not among the one described as "The ones" you should travel if you would like spectacular panoramic view. Well, just take a look at the above picture and judge by yourself. We found it "breath taking".

After leaving our "base camp" at 3100 meters above sea level, we descended about 2000 meter further down the gorge. Reaching one of the sources to the Blue Nile (Lake Tana is said to be the source) at about 1100 meters we (again) started climbing to the Ethiopian "rooftop" at around 2500 meters. We continue to confirm that this is a spectacular country, because of nature and spectacular people.
