Uganda, Tuesday 24 October 2006 - Mother Olaug safely brought on to Sabena Air to Europe
|
Wow, that was an amazing experience!!! I am sitting/laying in my rooftop tent inside Betsy about an hour after saying goodbye to my mother (co-pilot) and I heard the plane leaving Entebbe airport. It was if I could hear her streching her legs and getting a gin tonic on the folded table and thinking; What a relief! Well, not exactly so! I belive she has had quite an experience together with Betsy, Einar and myself in Rwanda and Uganda. Listening to her talking about the fantastic scenery, great people and not to forget the fish we loved so much. I think she enjoyed every minute, despite rain, wind and mosquito bites. Someone told me how brave she was, a woman entering seventy years next year, traveling all the way to Rwanda, sleeping in tent, living like a nomad together with cape2cape - she must be very special. Well thats the only word that would describe her in short, she is very special and acting as a sponsor, supporter and friend, she is more than special. Thank you mom and travel safely back home. |
