Uganda, Saturday 14 October 2006 - Thanks a lot to Einar for great companionship

We managed to escape Friday the 13th without any accidents and the only sad thing was that Einar left the cape2cape team. Fourteen days together with Einar was a big treat for me and Betsy. I am also sure that my mother (who is still among the remaining team) was extremely happy that he came along.

The only thing I regret the last two weeks is that I have been sick most of the time. Bad flu and a strange insect bite made my foot look like a dugout canoe...

On Friday we went to the Norwegian Embassy to meet Kristin, Nina and the rest of the staff. We were invited to coffee and waffles, which is a traditional treat together with coffee in Norway. Finding a good restaurant in Kampala is also not very difficult and we choosed an international place and landed on Indian food, with big success.

On Saturday we will meet good friends of ours, Karungi and Kirabo are coming to greet Betsy. These two girls are old friends of both Betsy and me and travelled together in 2004 and 2005.
