Uganda, Friday 6 October 2006 - Cape2Cape arrived in Uganda, country number 14

The last weeks has been quite eventful, after meeting Michel and Sylvain in Burundi the countries have passed by much too fast. I should at least spent two weeks more both in Burundi and Rwanda, such beautiful countries with scenery that makes you feel at home.

You read about Africa, about drought, starving people, dust and terrible infrastructure and dispare, but so far Madam Africa has been a delightful surprise and a marvellous experience. Uganda is no different, it really was much different than anything what we expected. Mountainous like countries in Norway and Sweden, hillside by hillside was divided into parcels of cultured land and it looked like a rich and well organized agricultural area. As any other African country, Uganda are vulnerable when it comes to drought and seeing how fertile this part of Uganda is now, we dare not think how it will affect the communities if they have a season or two without any rain.
