Rwanda, Tuesday 3 October 2006 - Visited the Genocide memorial site in Kigali
|
A tough visit into the Genocide memorial site in Kigali. It is written a lot about this horrible massacre and often when you read about war and disaster, you are not close enough to really feel how the victims have suffered, or seen at close site how things really happened. Watching the pictures of young children being ripped away their childhood due to a meaningless racial war is too hard to grasp. After this visit we went to SOS Children's Village in Kigali to interview one of the girls living there. She came to the village when she was 3 months old after she lost the mother during birth and the father in the genocide war. We had a pleasant meeting with Noella and the staff and management. We put together a few pictures from the second day of our stay in Kigali here. On Wednesday we are heading north to try to find over beloved gorillas. |
