Kenya, Thursday 24 August 2006 - Another two days in the Tsavo Paradise

We surely miss Hans Blaser very much. His ability to attract the predators vanished on Wednesday when we spent 9 hours in Tsavo East without spotting any cats. We decided to be "smart" and took a route where we could be on our own. That was probably not the best idea of the day! We missed out on all the action that we were so attached to on our previous visit, and we admit; we are the only one to blame.

If you are on a "hunt" for predators, stay within the area where it is most commonly spotted, do not try to invent a new route or find a desolated area with no cars or people. That's the tip for today!

As mentioned, we went back to Tsavo East to experience the same spectacle that occurred in front of our eyes during the weekend. We were invited to stay at Tarhi camp, this time with Betsy and our tent and if you are on lookout for excitement, we got it!!! Two leopard as neighbours must be rare  and curious buffaloes, elephants and antelopes wandering about just 20 meters away from our campsite. Thrilling!

On Thursday we will try our luck again with our private game drive, an extended blog will follow.
