July 2006 Eli Størset was still joining me with impeccable attitude
(otherwise I would have kicked her out of Betsy). Two girls are not always a
good combination, but Betsy liked her very much and I think Eli liked Betsy too,
so there was no need for me to be jealous.
Eli is extremely straight forward and interact with the local
people like she has been party of their lives for years. She was constantly
curious and going out ALONE on Lake Malawi in a dugout canoe, well that had to
be done! I liked Eli's company and I hope she will be able to rejoin in Ghana, a
country she is very familiar with (as she studied there).
Rune Ovlien arrived at month end and we went to Zanzibar to
meet Sanjay. First I didn't fancy the idea with so many co-pilot, but it is
working exceptionally well. AND it has become a ritual to see what they have
brought with them from Norway. Its like a Christmas Eve every time.
People worth mentioning this month is of course Tor, the boss
at Noremco, Sanjay in Zanzibar and the friends we made in Chembe and Chitembo,
the kids we interviewed and our hostess in Dar Es Salaam, Hanney, her siblings
and not to mention Eva. |
