Malawi, Saturday 24 June 2006 - Woke up at the third biggest lake in Afrika, Lake Malawi.
|
Sorry Eli, just had to go for a peak! On Friday we felt that we needed a break from all the office work and went for a short two hours drive to Lake Malawi and Kambiri Lodge. If it weren't for the wind, this could easily have been the paradise. Camping on the beach, no risk for tsunami, no hassle by beach vendors, the price was right and I got my own cabin for hygienic purposes. Only two days now before we get company and Eli will join us in Lilongwe. We will try to be a therapeutic institution for her, as she came down to Malawi to relax and recharge her batteries. So lets hope she doesn't need to either push the car or dig in mud the time she is with us. The roads here in Malawi are better than most and to tackle the tracks will be very easy, I might even ask Eli to drive! Or perhaps that will ruin her relaxation? Lets just see how it goes. We are spending two nights at Kambiri doing absolutely nothing, except maybe watch some football in the bar. Checked that out on Friday night and it was perfect. Happy reading! |
