Zimbabwe, Thursday 1 June 2006 - Cape2Cape has been on the road for 4 months

Believe it or not, we have now been on the road for four months. Well, that's actually not totally true, we have not been on the road all the time, we have been resting as well. Except these last days here in Trondheim Palace and one night at Margate in South Africa, all the nights has been spent inside Betsy.

The reason I now choose to stay inside the palace is simple, I needed to recharge my batteries and I think the maintenance on Betsy did her good as well. Her status is now "healthy" and we can continue our journey on Friday morning. It is now only a diesel pump from one of my spare tanks that is not working and spending 30 million Zim Dollars on that is not a good idea. I will purchase that when I get to a country with more hospitable economy. The above picture shows how desperate we get to retrieve diesel, the queues are long and the service stations that can deliver diesel are rare

The distance to Johannesburg is now 850 kilometres, not very far from where the whole journey started. Its tempting to drive down for the day, just to say hello to old friends.
