Zimbabwe, Sunday 21 May 2006 - Being in Zimbabwe is really an enjoyable journey.

Two out of four camps (so far) has been spent with the "real people" of Zimbabwe. We camped at two different homesteads and this is just something that you have to do. I have mentioned this before and state; You can NOT buy this experience for any money at any travel agency, just drive and explore.

If you are average modest (like me), and ask nicely with great respect, you will never get a negative response when you ask for shelter. There is a few things that you should look out for and be aware of, which I will put in a blog at a later stage. My previous co-pilots will gladly recommend this to anyone, make sure you have something to offer as these people do not own very much. Sometimes I end up paying more staying at a hospitable and nice family as "free camp", than entering a golden gate, top of class, superb camping site for rich white people from the "Wild West"... The thing is, I spend it with joy.
