Zambia, Wednesday 17 May 2006 - My national holiday celebration started with a "bang"...

Jomar where are you? My dedicated handyman left me two days ago, and NOW the misery starts! Something is totally wrong with the electrical installations in Betsy, so she almost started a fire on Wednesday morning. It was too close to be exciting and a scary incident for me, as I do not know anything about positive and negatives in the electrical terminology. I did manage to rescue Betsy from a total disaster though and as there was nobody around to help, I had to figure out how to diminish the damages and make her continue to Lusaka without more trouble.

And so I did! She started and lights, fridge and other necessity worked properly and I got to Lusaka and met up with Ruth. We had a nice dinner and celebrated the best we could. Thanks to Ruth for taking good care of me in Zambia's capital. Now I have to find an auto electrician and Embassy of Zimbabwe to continue this journey. The picture: Lucy, Betsy and myself in Mangowe.
