Botswana 15 April 2006 - Celebrating the Easter holiday in a new country

After almost 40 days in Namibia, I had enough. Not to say that Namibia is not worth it, its just that I have a schedule and need to move on. Now that Angola didn't understand the concept of tourism, we entered into Botswana Friday 14 April. What we saw after driving just a few kilometre is that this country need some serious infrastructural help. We could keep an average of 20 kilometres an hour and drove only 30 kilos before we decided to camp. We found a perfect spot close to a farm and asked to wild camp on the property. It was an immediate YES and we were escorted up to the village where the whole village came to greet us.

As we relaxed outside Betsy after a sausage dinner, Chief Dam came to visit and he asked if we had any video. After serving him a coffee with four spoons of sugar, we watched "Beautiful People", a movie about the Namib and Kalahari desert. The chapter with the bushmen were particularly well received and before we could spell or say cheese, we were surrounded by 35 people from the village. We found it very amusing and from the laughter, screaming and cheering,  I think they appreciated a "movie" as well.
